InterneTree is a Java applet that allows you to publish your genealogy information on the Internet.  It displays the information in an hour-glass tree form with a single primary person in the center, all of his or her desendents spreading out to the left, and all of his or her ancestors spreading out to the right.  Geneo allows you to scroll up, down, left or right to view individuals that don't initially fit on the screen.  You can also zoom in or out, change the primary person, find a particular person, or view details about a specific person.  The following sections describe how this is done. 

Zooming out allows you to "back up" and view more of the tree, albeit in less detail. Zooming in allows you to "move closer" to the tree and view a smaller portion of the tree in more detail. There are several ways to zoom in or out:

• Click on the tree with the right mouse button to bring up the pop-up menu (Mac users must hold the Meta key while clicking). Then choose Zoom In or Zoom Out.
• From the View menu, click Zoom In or Zoom Out.
• Press <Ctrl>I or <Ctrl>O (press the control key and the 'I' key or 'O' key at the same time).
• Press 'I' or 'O'.
• Press the '+' key on your keyboard to zoom in or the '-' key to zoom out.

The Primary Person is the person who occupies the center of the hour glass tree.  It is this person's ancestors and descendants that are currently being displayed.  You can change the primary person to another person in several ways:

• Double click on another person in the tree to make them the primary person.
• Single click on a person to select them, then, from the View menu, click Set Primary Person.
• Single click on a person to select them, then press the 'P' or <Ctrl>P key on your keyboard.

To locate someone quickly, use the Find dialog box. It contains a list of everyone in the tree. Once you have opened the Find dialog box, simply click the name of the person you're looking for in the list and click the [Ok] button to make that person the center person of the display. There are two ways to bring up the Find dialog box:

• Click the tree with the right mouse button to bring up the pop-up menu (Mac users must hold the Meta key while clicking). Then choose Find.
• From the Search menu, click Find.
• Press the 'F' or <Ctrl>F key on your keyboard.

The tree's boxes only display names, birth dates, and death dates, but often you will want to see more than that. You can use the Details dialog box to learn more about a particular person. There are two ways to open the Details dialog box:

• Click the tree with the right mouse button to bring up the pop-up menu (Mac users must hold the Meta key while clicking). Then choose Details.
• From the View menu, click Details.
• Press the 'D' or <Ctrl>D key on your keyboard.

Please note that these shortcuts only work if the InterneTree is the active part of your browser. If the keystrokes do not work, try clicking the tree with your mouse and then repeat the keystroke again.
